Choosing the right model

When it comes to choosing a shower box model there are a plethora of different options to choose from on the market. From fairly simple designs to designs with sliding doors. The style of these enclosures has improved greatly over the years, especially as glass technology has improved in leaps and bounds. New design principles mean that show box glass comes in a wide variety of different styles. Everything from transparent, to striped glass. Whatever your preference is, it’s easy to add style and substance to your bathroom.

Frameless options

In addition to the normal transparent designs with aluminium frames, it’s also possible to get a frame door design on your shower box. Frameless designs have become a huge trend in recent year but keep in mind that the dimensions of your bathroom may not always allow for them. If you have to have a frame then it’s often possible to choose between white, shiny and matte look aluminium. A shower box with a frame is more easily adapted to unusually shaped bathrooms. They are usually quite a bit more affordable than a frameless option.

Enclosed or walk-in

The big question for a lot of people is whether or not to go for an enclosed design or a walk-in design. You need to keep in mind that it’s important that water and humidity don’t escape into the room too much as this can cause mould and mildew issues. If you want a want a walk-in style space and more of an open-plan shower then you will need to allow around a metre. Smaller bathrooms are usually not ideal for open plan style set-ups. Instead opt for an enclosed style shower box as it will prevent too much moisture from escaping into your bathroom.

Choosing a screen

Before you go ahead with choosing your shower box you’ll need to have a careful think about what kind of design you want. You should think about the thickness of the glass you need as well as what kind of profile you want.

Choosing a door

You should also have a think about what kind of door you need. There are a lot of different kinds to choose from. Sliding doors are considered to be ideal for smaller bathroom spaces, whilst folding style doors are generally considered to be good for medium bathrooms. Folding doors are a bit like telephone booths so they can be great for adding some quirkiness to your bathroom. Full doors will need more space and a best for medium to large bathrooms. Saloon doors are the style of door where dual doors can be opened up on either side of each other.

The choice you make ultimately depends on the style and size of your bathroom, so think carefully about what kind of look you want to go for.
